Just what's needed
I occasionally do leather lacing of thing like knife scabbards and these little needles are perfect of the ⅛ inch leather lace. If you haven't used them before, it is very helpful to take a sharp razor blade and carefully slice about half the thickness off the lace for a length of ½ inch so that the needle can better grasp the little thin tab you've just created. It is also helpful to use a pair of pliers to mash the little claw grasps into the leather prior to using. Great lacing needles
I have used these needles in many leathercraft projects over the years so when I began another project and needed to lace leather strips I thought of these needles. Didn't think twice about ordering them. Thought they would work for what I needed them for. They didn't, but that was my fault for ordering the wrong size. Strips were too thick and too wide for the needles but I am still giving them 5 stars because they would have worked if the strips were narrower and thinner. I have used these needles in many leathercraft projects over the years so when I began another project and needed to lace leather strips I thought of these needles. Didn't think twice about ordering them. Thought they would work for what I needed them for. They didn't, but that was my fault for ordering the wrong size. Strips were too thick and too wide for the needles but I am still giving them 5 stars because they would have worked if the strips were narrower and thinner.
