    Review of The Storyteller

    These stories are so very well done and a brilliant take on timeless fairy tales. It is so captivating for all generations. I watched these when I was younger and have so many fond memories from doing so. Now my children love them and are creating memories of their own! Highly recommend this to anyone that wants to escape reality for a few hours 🤗

    They don't make 'em like this anymore

    One of the ultimate all-time Jim Henson classics. I loved it as a kid - and still enjoy it now as a parent. John Hurt is fantastic (as always). Each of the stories have a moral. I love that MY kids enjoy it as well.

    An almost forgotten gem

    Somehow, I'd never heard of this fantastic collection of short stories by the legendary Jim Henson. I stumbled onto the trailer by accident one day while watching Labyrinth. Intrigued by the premise of European folktales brought to life through the magic of Jim Henson's fantastic creature shop, I quickly hopped online to find a copy. Despite it being out of print I managed to find a copy for a reasonable price. I am glad I did because the series is nothing short of outstanding. Each episode is a self contained story (a la Twilight Zone) told by the great John Hurt who plays the titular storyteller. He is spellbinding in this role as his words literally spring to life through puppetry and some surprisingly good special effects. A word of warning: these stories are aimed at older children ...
