safety blade drive "fuse", good to have a spare ib blade hits rock.
This iteem is an expendable safety for the blade to strip free should it encounder a rock. The plastic prevents serious damage to the motor if the blade is suddenlt stopped. In that case the plastic "insulator" (fuse) must be replaced, a very easy job IF you have the part. Its wise o keep several sparesm and I am thankful they are still available.

Lightweight with great features
It's the correct part for our Black & Decker electric lawn mower. Holds the blade, but it is intended as a sacrificial part in case you hit something hard with the blade like a hidden tree root.
