Product Information

The Seachem Aquarium Purigen Filter Media is effective in keeping aquarium water clear and comes pre-packed in a ready-to-use 100ml bag. Once dropped into the aquarium, the filter cleans the water fast and can be used for around six months, after which it can be regenerated and reused. Cleaning the Purigen filter media is as simple as soaking in bleach and rinsing until it is clean.

Fantastic product
I have a small bag in the filter setup for my 30 litre Betta Tank and two large bags in the water return section of the sump for my 4 x 2 x 2 tank .... in both cases the water is kept "polished" to a crystal clear finish. The best thing about Purigen is that you can tell when it needs cleaning as it changes colour to a dirty brown. The small one in my betta tank lasts a good 6 months before it needs cleaning, whilst the big ones in my sump have yet to need cleaning (been in place approximately 6 months). Purigen is FANTASTIC! Don't use it in a new uncycled tank your BB needs time to establish. After 6-8 weeks clean your filter media using tank water only and add double the recommended amount of purigen. Always place purigen at last stage of your filter flow so your BB still gets some level of ammonia /nirrite /nitrates. Don't let Purigen expire or become saturated or you Will get a sudden ammonia spike as your BB colony that does exist isn't large enough to handle sudden rise in workload if Purigen is saturated and can't do its job. Keep that in check and Purigen is magic and your water parameters are rock solid and water polished to a consistency of ultra clear.Purigen is FANTASTIC! Clear water fast
Used this in replacement to carbon filters, In less than 24 hours water was clearer, Amonia and Nitrate were never a problem so nothing to add on that front, in a week running I could not see different on my normal level of Nitrates increase but I will not say that is a flaw as I don't have enough data to back it up and I don't think I will for at least a couple of months.

amazing crystal clear water and reusable just drop in in your filter and your good to go clean with 1:1 bleach and water rinse and soak in prime or safe until no more bleach smell. Its a must have in all my tanks.

Arrived in an envelope. Still in mint condition. Does a great job collecting waste and cloudy water. Some particles from the purigen got loose, but got slowly caught up in my filter which helped get waste in between the gravel.Differently recommend.
