'Standard Candle' is a 'seamless' and 'beautifully melodic' rock record recorded by Kenley Young and several of his talented friends from across the country. It is by turns polished and thoughtful, raw and conversational. Young takes cues from some of his biggest influences here, showcasing solid, tuneful rock reminiscent of the Foo Fighters, a give-em-hell ethos a la The Replacements, and a songwriting aptitude akin to Elvis Costello.
