    A little tricky

    Once I installed the battery and tried it, I had a hard time getting the right temperature; mine seemed too low. So, I read the instructions and removed the protective plastic cover over the sensor. Duh. My temperature still was half a degree low. The device emits beeps that increase in frequency as it finds higher surface temperatures to measure, so it's the absence of beeps that signify you're swiping across the right area. Turns out the temporal artery is higher up on my forehead than I thought. It's a good idea to get repeat readings with it. It also works via the femoral artery, inner thigh. I got the Exergen because my fairly new crappy LCD digital thermometer stopped working. Learning to use the Exergen left me uncertain so I purchased a new LCD digital thermometer as well, ...

    Measures Wrong Temp, Junk!

    Was excited to get this after having an older model Exergen thermometer for many years. Terrible deal if product doesn’t work!!! Thermometer consistently measures temp too high & changes multiple times- one time measures 100.3, then 99.5 on same person. Clearly doesn’t work!!!!!

    Accurate thermometer, made in USA

    I had another forehead thermometer, similar to a lot of them on the market, but the readings always seemed a little low (96-97 F). I wanted to get a different kind, and wanted to buy one made in the USA. The readings from the Exergen seem a little closer to the body temperatures that my wife and I see with an oral thermometer (97-98F).

    Easy to Use

    The thermometer was purchased for elderly parents. It's super easy to use and as far as we know, accurate. The cost is a little pricey....but hopefully, worth it. There is only 1 button to push (but instructions are on the back in case one forgets).

    Great Product

    Easy to use and set up. Gives a clear temperature. I believe it is more accurate than most other types of of thermometers. I heard this type was better for a more accurate reading. I am very pleased with my purchase. It is something I think every family should have in these times. Give it a try.
