    Hondo was the name of the character, the main star, portrayed by John Wayne.

    Hondo is one of Marion Morrison's best movies. It was/is a Louie L'amour adaptation and was very well done for it's day. Geraldine Paige was excellent in it, as was Ward Bond and Matt Dillon his self ( James Arness ). Great story, great western !

    The title says it all Hondo. Perfect title.

    This movie has very good actors that are at in top form with every role of each scene. I enjoy watching this type of movie. For those that like westerns, this is one they could watch.

    Worth it for John's Scarf.

    I think John Wayne directed this movie. I cannot believe I had missed watching this movie until now. Evenly paced, beautiful scenery beautifully filmed. Simple people rising up to the challenges of life and truth.
