This is the 3rd one of these printers that I’ve owned! They are super reliable and great photo quality! I work these units to death as I use them for my Video business! Thus the reason for being on my 3rd printer!

I like it for the ability to print on CD/DVD. one irritant that is worse on this one than on earlier versions.. I am using a bulk feed system for ink. The printer stops because of foreign cartridge error at least once every day compared to once after cartridge change on earlier models. Once I have done the reset, it will print for an extended time without further errors, but a long pause between jobs will bring back the error. I have created a "reset page" with nothing but a half dozen spaces. I can send this then do the reset without consuming ink or paper still a nuisance. I also use an "autoprint" program to exercise every three days to reduce print nozzle issues, this will not work when I am on vacation I have owned about 8 or 10 similar Epson printers and this new feature will cause me to look for something differentRead full review

This printer is an excellent quality printer. I've owned 4 of them now - the reason being is that after 2 years of moderate use, you get an "your printer is at the end of it's useful life" message, and you have to buy a new one. There are solutions to this on the web that gets you another 3 months or so. I found that by searching the web because it doesn't give you any advance warning, just QUITS with the error message! I also found that you have to adjust the color settings to match your monitor which can take a few prints to do. Once set, you'll love the quality of prints. Ink is cheap - 6 colors so you only have to replace what's out. Also takes bulk ink system - save even more. My only complaint is for the price, it should last longer than 2 yrs!! Epson needs to get it right. There's really not another model that prints on CD's and does as good of job printing photos.Read full review
First of all I have about 6 of these printers. I keep buying them used since to buy them NEW is too expensive. It is a discontinued model and the people selling them know that the newer models do not work as well. The biggest reasons that I like this model printer is thet it does a great job printing on Inkjet Printable CD's. I have a singing group and we make our own cd's. It make very professional printed cd's. If you want a printer just for printing on paper, there are much less expensive printers on the market. As far as ink costs go, buing the original inks are fairly expensive. About $16.95 each x 6, but there are many good aftermarket inks available that you can get for about $2.00 each in quantity.
I have used an Epson R320 for years so I knew what it could do. My old machine developed print quality issues that became fatal. I had the software for the R320 already installed and lots of new cartridges so I replaced it with this one. It had missing or scuffed parts but I salvaged good ones from the old machine. After a head cleaning, using a kit from eBay, and a head alignment procedure, it prints perfectly, better than the old one. I got a good value.

I bought this printer because it could print directly to the DVD instead of using labels. The image quality is excellent. The printing process on a DVD disc is slow. Don't think that you are really going to crank out a lot of DVD's at a time. The other thing is that I used it to print the DVD case inserts and after less than 20 inserts I ran out of the cyan color cartridge. You can actually see the color bar going down as you use it. Over all I am happy with it. But if I get really busy, I will have to use something more expensive, that can match the image quality and print automated overnight.
Would not print black had to clean nozzles by hand and also needed new cartridges works good now

I have been using this printer and the R340 for over 10 years now. I love both of them. Very easy to use, very quiet printing, accurate DVD/CD printing, and the print quality is exceptional wether on a printable disc or Quality Photo Paper. Prints on 8-1/2x11, 8x10, 4x6 & 5x7 paper with or without a border and has 6 different ink cartridges for producing superior color photos. Another reason I LOVE this printer is because it has a built-in media card reader and can print directly from the media card without a computer. Very easy to reset the waste ink counter (R320 Only). Just hold down the STOP, POWER & MAINTENANCE buttons all at the same time. There isn't anything about this printer I don't LOVE except that there are no WINDOWS 7 drivers available. Maybe I was just lucky but I am currently using this printer with my desktop running Win 7 (32bit) using the Vista Driver. EPSON DISCONTINUED PRODUCTION OF THE R320 & R340 PRINTERS. Why, I Have No Idea??????????Read full review
Pros: Uses 6 ink cartridges. Built in memory slots. LCD preview. Produces great print quality (better than most other inkjet printers). Capable of printing on printable DVDs/CDs. Prints photos faster than most other inkjet printers, however could be faster. Cons: The print speed for business applications is not fast enough, but for personal use, it's fine. Sometimes when I print black & white photos, I can see a little tint, barely noticable. LCD is a bit small. Size is also a problem if you're looking for a compact printer. Overall: This photo printer is affordable and can print directly on printable optical discs. It is very easy to use which is a plus. I love the LCD preview which allows me to pick which photos I want to print from my memory cards. The printer itself is a little big, however not a problem for me. Most important, it offers better output quality across the board than most inkjet printers.Read full review
