Dead to Rights: Retribution reanimates the dormant K-9 cop series -- unseen in five years -- for its third console title. With his beloved city crumbling under corruption and gang warfare, honest cop Jack Slate enlists his partner and (man’s) best friend, Shadow, as he embarks on a one-man quest for truth, justice, and looking good in a tight t-shirt. While the game offers campy fun at times, it’s saddled with glitches and uninspired design. You’ll spend most of your time playing as Jack, who alternates between shooting and brawling at your discretion. Gunplay is standard fare. The clichés of uninspired third-person shooter games are all here: civilian escort missions, bridge levers, heavies with rocket launchers, etc. Controls can be wonky and maneuvering, including the inability to take cover in (what should be) intuitive locations, is stilted and awkward. If you choose to take on baddies with your fists, combat flows a bit more smoothly -- provided enemies do not attack you from different angles, which the camera can’t handle very well. . That said, the two-button attacks haven’t evolved much since the series’ inception. Rough up your enemies without disposing of them entirely and you’ll be given a button prompt for a canned animation takedown. Delivering a no-look, back-handed haymaker is a satisfying reward. Bland, repetitive, and uninspired-looking enemies like the Triads (Triads, really?), is just one example of the bland design that prevents this from being more than a sub-par action title.Read full review
Probably one of ps3 hidden gems! And you have a dog friend to kick ass? What else do you want

the game felt pretty demo, but it grows on you if you play it through... once you get into it, it feels similar to batman: arkham asylum playing as shadow is like detective mode in batman. but when you play regular the dog can assist by fetching items and attack on command. but the best thing about this game is the unique violence and cussing! hand to hand combat system, disarm enemies, use a hostage as a shield, various fatalities, slow motion, head shots... i'm almost platinum on this game. [extra bonus] a complete outfit for PSHOME when various tasks/trophies are met!
This is such an amazing game given the date it came out! Great graphics and a storyline that's typical of a cop film!

Ive always been a fan of the other two dead to rights games on the first gen systems, so naturally when "retribution" came out i had a FIT and had to have it. Its great in a lot of ways because they stuck with the formula from the first but made the game blu ray quality {thumbs up}. id reccomend this game to anybody who like a good third person shooter and bare knuckle brawler. Booya!
Game feels like its Die Hard.. and your in the Nakatomi building.. you have to take out a bunch of bad guys.. so while i play this game i kept saying .. Yipee Kai Yay.. ---- --KERS.. LOL.. game wasnt really as fun as it looked.. and its not like final fight at all.. its more like Uncharted.. but you got a dog. oh well. not bad.. but not great either.
Great game, even though it is an easy game. They should do a sequal to this game, but overall great experience.
