    Great Album by a Mostly Unknown Guitar Master!

    Roy Buchanan's "Guitar on Fire" album is appropriately titled as there are lots of incendiary licks that come from Roy's axe! There are also some mellow songs on the disc that are also real tasty. Some critics of Roy Buchanan don't like Roy's recordings on the Atlantic label as they are more rock oriented than blues oriented, but I think that's being unnecessarily picky as "great guitar playing is great guitar playing" regardless of the genre. Roy shows his musical versatility and really rips it up on many of the songs on this album! If you're new to Roy Buchanan's music or a hard core fan, there's a lot to like on "Guitar on Fire" and it's worthy of being in your collection of Roy's music! Bill S.
