Mostly due to the strap placement and design. I feel like the original pack strap length adjustment was fine, and the placement of the strap anchor points seem stronger on the original. The zippered pocket, drawstring closure, and slightly smaller size are all perfect. I kind of wish there were molle fields on the sides so I could choose to remove the side buckles.

Confusing and honestly a bit frustrating to learn how to use it but one YouTube tutorial will teach you everything you need to know about it. Fits plenty of smaller items on the inside and can fit two larger rolled items on the outside in a side by side or top and bottom configuration.
