    A+++ Skipping Christmas and Playing for Pizza!

    Excellent Writing - same for "Playing for Pizza" by same author who showed his wide range of writing through a couple of very funny books, even though his lawyer books are excellent! We all need a laugh once in awhile. but you would not expect to get it from a mostly serious writer like John Grisham. I loved those books so much I am sending them to my daughter in N.C. instead of putting them back up on ebay. Sally Cook, Vermont (Grisham is fabulous, except for Lake House that was too awful to read).

    The Book is better than the Movie

    The book that "Christmas with the Kranks" is based on, John Gresham's "Skipping Christmas" is a much better and interesting story than the screen play based on the book and used for the movie. I know, that's a shocker, but it really is a more in-depth and interesting story without some of the goofy plot twists they added to the movie.

    Skipping Christmas by John Grisham (2002)

    This is a wonderful story about how a middle aged couple attempts to deal with the first Christmas without their only child. 'Blair' has entered the peace corps and will be in Peru during Christmas! What follows is how a simple alternative to Christmas can suddenly get so complicated! I enjoyed this book so much I ended up purchasing another to give as a Christmas present! This book inspired the movie 'Christmas with the Kranks', starring Tim Allen and Jamie Lee Curtis. The movie is great, but to get the full depth of the story, this book is a must-read!

    Another great John Grisham book! Nice family story.

    I liked this book because it was easy to read & follow & it kept my attention. I've read all but three of Grisham's book & Skipping Christimas really made me think about the true meaning of the holidays & how often times we get side tracked with all of the traditions. This books also shows the support that a community can display in time of need. I decided to buy this book because I didn't own it & my goal is to own & read all of Grisham's books.

    A good book for Christmas

    The movie, "Christmas with the Kranks," is based on this holiday tale. The book is very different from what Grisham normally writes, but it is very fun. It is a great book for the holidays, some parts are similar to the movie, but like all movies based on books, not everything is the same. Anyone looking for a light hearted, easy to read Christmas book for the season, should definitely read "Skipping Christmas."
