    Downton Abbey's final season (6) is close to perfect. 4 Star entertainment

    Downton Abbey is one of the best, if not the finest period dramatic series ever produced. Although the creator/writer, Julian Fellowes appears to have not put as much effort into the final season as the previous seasons, (a few of the character and plot lines appear rushed, and some character's actions are out of character) this is an excellent end to an amazing series. The acting is superb throughout the entire series. The depth of the character development is amazing and like any good story, many of the characters leave the story to become actual people you care about. In addition, the artistry of the outdoor scenery, interior sets and Highclere Castle all work together to make Downton Abbey 1st rate.     Downton Abbey--We'll miss you...

    Every season of this program has left me & all of my friends eager for the next. Hearing that Season 6 was the end of this excellent series was a huge disappointment but as usual, it was a wonderful season. Not only did the story line continue moving forward, it had a very satisfying ending with the loose ends tied up. I dislike it when there are incomplete storylines as if the writers decided to give up rather than finish the job; whether it be books, movies or TV programs. The quality of the series started with the first episode & continued through the last. The attention to detail was mind-boggling. Every stitch in the clothing, every mannerism, every bit of aristocratic behavior was captured for the time period. The relationship between the household staff & the people "upstairs" was ...

    Happy, but has defect

    Generally happy with this 5-disc set. We did have a problem on one disc, which has scratches and, consequently, paused frequently. Then the audio and video got out of sync, where the characters started speaking but the audio/voices lagged by a couple seconds. After awhile it began to sync and play correctly.
