This movie takes me back to the days when I believed anything was possible. My Dad took me to see this when it came out in theaters on the big screen. Back in the 80's. A large root beer in one hand and a popcorn bag in the other! Boy This was the coolest movie of the summer that I had seen At the time. I guess that when your knee high to a chicken and wide eyed with wonder some movies make quite a impression on you. This was one of those... Magic is ephemeral and fleeting, so is time. Life is a blink in time. There is more time than life. Remember, never forget. Something's are special... People ,places, things are never truly be gone if you remember them. They live on in your recollection. Pictures bring back your memories, as do movies.
I've loved this movie since the first time I saw it.The Last Starfighter is a movie ahead of it's time.Even now with the advancements in movie making I still find myself wanting to watch it over and over. Part in fact because of a poor boy from a trailer park becomes the saver of worlds, almost single hand idly. Also how a spoiled rotten boy can turn so treacherous and evil. This movie has something for everyone.A romance of two young friends and to never sell yourself short.A true masterpiece and technical visual experience.A most excellent family movie.A great movie for building character.I would recommend this movie for every one.
Need an HD DVD Player to play this DVD. Which I don't have.

First movie I ever saw in theater by myself as a kid. Loved it then love it now. The story is classic struggle between good and evil. Although special effects aren't as sophisticated as other films at the time I believe the writing makes up for it. Greatly enjoyed it and plan to again and again.

I can remember watching this on HBO in 1985, they reran it like 5 times that summer, and I was glued to the TV every time it premeired. Its so neat to see it in crystal clarity!!
