I have tested the unit since and found the piezo ignition to 'work' but it is reluctant to start the flame despite many, many efforts to do so. Its a pretty wild bit of gear but after field usage I was not afraid to start it with cig lighter. (With caution!) It tends to 'snuff out' if held to closely to surface/s and using the lever/trigger needs to be done with finesse or it will 'snuff out'. Sure as hell kills weeds. could easy burn paint off surfaces. Wild!
