Van Zwoll has yet to produce a dud. This is another fine book from an extremely knowledgeable author. As with many of his writings he can seem to be a bit off topic with his historical lessons of the development of firearms and the men who should be remembered for their genius in getting us where we are today with modern rifles. If you aren't interested in the history lesson, just skip ahead a few chapters. I found much of it very interesting. One of the best things Van Zwoll brings to his writings on the subject of long-range shooting is his perspective as a hunter. I have seen many videos and read many scribblings from so-called 'professionals' and 'experts' who know a lot about shooting long range in military or rifle competitions but little of practical applications for the hunter. Van Zwoll is a lifetime competitor AND a hunter. He brings his vast array of knowledge and skills to bear in presenting the information in an easy to read manner so people can improve their shooting skills in hunting situations. I highly recommend this book to the novice or advanced shooter who wants to improve their skills afield.Read full review
