I bought this game because I love dungeon and dragon style games and this one had some really great screen shots. What I didn't like about the game is the way the game play is. You can't see your whole character, all you see is just the hands of them. It would have been nice to have a feature where you have the whole view of what your character looks like. Another thing that bothered me about the game is the writing/dialogue. The writing/dialogue is so small I can barely read it, and I don't know if there is a way to enlarge it. I haven't really played the game a whole lot yet so I really couldn't tell you what I like best about it yet. Overall, so far it is a good game with great graphics. I would recommend renting it through gamefly or a video store before buying.
I held off on this game until it had been reviewed thoroughly by many of the more reputable game sites. Having got the game at the new retail price of $29.99 was a good investment since that is all that it is worth. There are a ton of map glitches where your character can get caught up on and many of the character animations are just horrible. Having said that, the game is fun if you can set aside the problems and is definately worth playing. The enemies get very repetitive and the graphics are nothing to write home to mom about but all in all it is an average game. I have played alot of RPG'ish type games and I really cannot compare it to anything I have played in the past. If I had to give you a rough idea I would say a mixture of Two Worlds and Oblivion as in the game play with all of the problems of Two Worlds. If you haven't played Oblivion, pay the extra money and you will be a thousand times more satisfied.Read full review
So I'm 25 years old now and felt quite nostalgic about previous RPGs I've played in the past this game in particular. I was around 14 or so when the game originally was released then I found it to be to difficult and a bit buggy and moved onto elderscrolls oblivion. However after buying this game and playing it again it's great I love the character customization the different weapons collectibles in the game as well as the design it's beautiful. Controls can be a bit buggy but over all I would definitely recommend it to any RPG player.

I beat this game years ago like 3 or 4 times. I got it again bc I thought ai wanted to play it again. It didn't have the same effect. Still it's a pretty good game if you like the game Thief, it's very similar game play.

I bought this game because I was looking for something to replace Oblivion once I finished it. This game is definitely a quality game and I would recommend it to people who like first-person RPG style games. The one thing to keep in mind here is that unlike Oblivion, which is a "go anywhere, do anything" sandbox-style RPG, Dark Messiah is a much more linear experience. That's not to say it's not enjoyable, but if you're looking for freedom to explore and do whatever side-quests you like, this might not be the game for you. If you don't mind a linear, story-driven RPG then give it a try! The graphics are good, and the gameplay is fun. All in all it's an enjoyable game.
I bought this game on a whim. While I've never gotten deeply into the Might and Magic series, the in-game screen shots looked pretty and fun so I went for this one. The controls have a learning curve and I have a gripe because you cannot change the control scheme on the Xbox 360 version. However once you get used to them (for me by the end of the first boss fight), the game becomes very fun. While the game plays a lot like Oblivion without the smooth and fine tuned controls, if you give it a chance you will be really surprised by how involving the story line becomes. You start off a young adventurer in the "practice" stage where you learn controls and get a feel for how the game plays. Once you pass that however, the story line erupts into a all-out onslaught with the first town you visit getting ravaged by a massive cyclops and his pesky impish undead minions. Before you know it you're a consoling the beautiful daughter of your aristocrat friend after he gets slain by one of these undead beasts, wiping the floor with an entire boat full of bad guys, seizing their ship and sailing to a remote island in search of a mystical treasure that will somehow save the world. It all sounds cheesy but honestly, the game is a blast and the story line just keeps evolving with excellent character development and sweet cut scenes. Game is definitely worth a rent and if you can get past the lousy controls, get it and enjoy the sweet story that unfolds in your hands.Read full review
This game is terrible. I am actually shocked that it came from the same people who made the epic game "Assassins Creed", and the same year nonetheless. The only thing this game had going for it was the tactical first person sword fighting, other wise this game was a complete flop. The graphics are awful, and don't even compare to games like "Oblivion" which was made 2 years prior. All else I can say is this game was a complete waste of $10, it is an insult of my time to even try and play it. But if this is the epic fail that brought on "Assassins Creed" then I am happy that this failure helped make one of the best games ever- Assassins Creed rules!
this is so soso little first person sword shield type sortta rpg i like playing it online when there peeps to play with this game is old so not many online so gettin back to what iam saying this game has it troubles but when you start playing kicking sword fights and magic using the bow and arrow you will have a good time like i said online is the best part of this thrill fighting another player clangin sword freezing some one to beat them up is great the level are to me huge with many thing to see and many places to finish a opponet or ambush. in one game this guy was shooting arrows at the people below on a pillar on the roof of a castle and i walk up on him and kicked him off he died instanly to me this was funny and hearing him scream all the way down was a wow moment so to me rent this if you can but if you find it for a deal buy itRead full review
This game is just like morrow wind. You can't see a full view of you toon like you do in skyrim. It is still a good game to play. I am not much of a shooter gamer.

The game is a bit strange, not in a bad way, but I am still in the beginning stages of it. This game is like Elder Scrolls Oblivion and is like the BMW to Oblivion's Mercedes. If you like RPGs and Medieval times than you should check out this game. It is considered old now but true Gamers don't just play the new games and are open to playing games in genres that they like even from yesterday. Gameinformer Magazine also gave it an 8 rating, which is a good rating if that helps
