i just received the enclosure, was almost easy to used.the reason i say almost was the tiny screws holding the end cap were too small one got away was able to fasten it half using reemaing screw.you might use larger screws oior magnatize the so that they stay on the screwdriver annd go in easily.otherwise everything worked perfectly the drive light blinked to indicate it was reading, however it would be nice to add a power led as well. otherwise i will buy anotherone.

This product was easy to set up and worked as expected. It even came with a small screw driver. Hopefully this will be more durable than the last one I bought which wasn't all that old when it died. I have some old drives that I use to experiment with or use as extra backup disks. This gives me the flexibility to use not just my oldest drives but newer ones also.

its easy to put together. when you take the back over off there are 2 plastic slide is the sides that you take out. you hook the cables to the logic board and slide the drive in the case. using the screws provided. you secure the drive to the side of the case. via the slots on the side. then just slide the plastics slides back in there slot to cover the screws. and place the cover back on and put the screws in to lock it in place. looks good. usb cable could be longer. put it works as it should. i was surprised to see that after so long of it not being used but mounted to the computer the hdd will should down. it stayed mounted and the hdd starts back up when needed. it goes in to a sleep mode kind of thing. nice for use on a cloud set up. i know some people can't figure this out so i added a few pics. so easy of where the drive mountsRead full review

Love the fact it does both IDE and SATA drives. Had several IDE drives I wanted to use to backup data and you can't easily find IDE drive enclosures in stores. This one fit the bill nicely and was pleasantly surprised to see it had the adapter cables for SATA.

Does the job. Straight forward to set up if you have experience with connecting internal hard drives.

I had to send some large files to someone and had an old IDE drive. Set up quickly and worked fine. When it comes back to me I have a SATA drive waiting. It's the best of both worlds in my case. It also arrived quickly.

This is fairly simple to setup. Could use a little longer USB cable.

In theory, this should work...even with a linux OS. But only SATA drives were able to read/write data...all my old IDE drives were never seen by linux. So the external drive case only delivers on half of what is promised. The power supply to the IDE drive worked, but IDE drives were never mounted and seen by my file manager. For me, this was a huge disappointment!

Needed an enclosure for a drive from an old pc so I could use it as a backup drive. Put the drive in, closed the case, plugged it into the ac line and the usb port, and was up and running. Good Deal.
