Need a better housing option for the Canon G7
The buttons were all appropriately placed so that I had control of all of the camera controls (although the zoom seems just a hair off). The zoom is awkwardly placed because it is not close enough to the picture button to make adjustments without 2 hands or adjusting my hand position after setting the zoom to get to the button to snap a picture. The camera fit too tightly in the case so that I had to be careful to get it in correctly and it was very hard to remove especially if the flash was up. I was concerned I might damage the camera taking it out. That was my first concern. The housing design muted the flash so that all pictures taken with the flash were dark even during macro shots. I used it for a week of diving. The first dive was fine and everything functioned correctly at all ... I used it for a week of diving. The first dive was fine and everything functioned correctly at all depths, but after that the function of the case quickly got progressively worse. It functioned correctly and all of the controls worked properly in the first 15' of depth, but none of the controls worked beyond 30'. Whatever setting of zoom I had before going deeper was what I had to work with the rest of each dive. The flash didn't work and I couldn't change any other settings. For some reason the housing wasn't responding properly to the changes in depth. Even at the end of the dive back at 15 or 20' the controls remained non-functional. I properly rinsed the housing and all the buttons according to the instructions after every dive. I cleaned and lubed the seals between every dive experimenting with various amounts of the silicon lube provided, but nothing helped. It works properly to about 3m. Canon manufactured underwater housings worked perfectly. It is a real disappointment that they no longer make their own because this is not a workable option.

Great housing for a great camera
Very nice housing. The control layout makes it super convenient to change settings underwater, and the small size is really nice when you don't want to deal with a big rig on a dive or snorkel.
