For anyone who loves 40k lore, this game becomes a lot more interesting if you read the books about Rogue Trader Janus Draik (the lead protagonist) by Darius Hinks. But man, if you love 40k, you will love this. Unless you are a filthy, Chaos-worshipping heretic. Play as Kroot Mercenary, Imperial nobility, ne'er-do-well abhumans, pious Ecclesiarchial lay warriors, a Navigator, an Aeldari Outcast Ranger, and others (especially with the expansions) to search through the ruins of an Old Ones' Blackstone Fortress found at the edge of the Imperium (so, the human-known Milky Way) where laws are scarce and heresy common. Fight off the Dark Gods-worshipping Servants of the Abyss serving a Chaos Lord with a huge thunderhammer and a moody attitude, horrific monsters used by Drukhari Archons for bloodsport, or even Abominable Intelligence drones left over by the Old Ones themselves. Find out why the Blackstone Fortress was created and get rich doing it. Spend your hard-earned scrip and treasure at Precipice, an orbital shanty town/trading post where anything goes. Use your ship that you inherited/bought/serve aboard/hijacked depending on the character to shuttle between the (increasingly reactivated) Fortress and Precipice. It's got a bit of a learning curve, but can be played solo. You'll need some superglue like Loctite or Citadel Plastic Glue if you like paying more, and some clippers. You have to assemble the miniatures yourself. But when you're done, you'll have several Warhammer 40,000 Kill Teams! Included with the game are rules for any or all of the characters and units in fullsize 40k games, as well.Read full review

I got this mostly because of the miniatures for use in regular 9th edition 40k, but the actual boardgame itself is pretty fun for a small group of friends or by yourself. The models are beautiful and dynamic, full of lots of character and details! They look amazing. The rules are kind of clunky but it's standard GW rule writing. The narrative is where this delivers mostly, and the campaign is really fun and gripping.

There’s a lot in the box. It’s a very diverse very impressive kit. I’ve gotten several hours of joy out of it just assemble the models. I do use glue and I recommended plastic glue.

Fun game and great miniatures. Rules seem tough at first but not as complicated as similar games.
