Product Information

The Toshiba SD-KP19 Portable DVD player features an 8" Widescreen, with invert display mode (dm)TFT LCD Display with 480x234 Pixel Resolution, that is great for viewing standard, letterbox and anamorphic DVDs. The SD-KP19 is DivX Home Theater Certified and allows playback of DivX, AVI and MPEG4 (.ASF) compressed files downloaded from the internet from a personal computer and stored on a CD-R/RW. The convenient Audio/Video Input and Output provide connection to an external monitor or using the SD-KP19 screen and speakers as the display device. The built-in 4-In-1 Card Slot accepts Secure Digital, Memory Stick, XD Picture Card, and MultimediaCard. The SD-KP19also features a JPEG Viewer that enables a user to display digital photographs on the LCD screen or a television set in the JPEG digital format.

    Good Performer - Toshiba SD-KP19

    Strengths: 8" screen, good stereo sound, camera memory card slots, 2 headphone jacks Weaknesses: JPEG photo images are fuzzy, maneuvering through JPEGs is a bit cumbersome Summary: I purchased this unit to take to a family reunion last summer. It performed great on DVDs. The picture and sound are outstanding. The battery is listed at 4 hours and actually lasted nearly that long. As I mentioned above, I was a bit disappointed when viewing JPEGs either from a camera card or a DVD. Overall a good purchase for the price. Seems well made and comes with all necessary accessories.

    Great Quality with SD Card Reader

    Before buying this player I looked at several buyer reviews of other players. Since this is all I did before and after buying this player, the perspective of the following comments is limited. An inadequate volume level is a comment I have seen made about several players. That is not an issue with this player although I give the quality of its speakers a C+. With headphones the sound quality is excellent. The picture quality of this player does not come close to what I have seen on HD flat panel screen TVs displayed in retail outlets. The eight inch screen of this player has a resolution of 480x234. For a portable unit, to me, the quality of the picture looks very good. Battery life on this player will vary based upon whether you are buying a used, refurbished or new player. A new ...

    Toshiba SK-KP19 Portable DVD Player

    When I was contemplating a trip by bus to see my grandchildren, I knew that I would be bored just sitting. Having made the trip many times by car, I didn't know if I would see anything else that I had not already seen. I, of course, love to read, but also knew that I might want more. I borrowed a friend's DVD player, took a few movies, and was hooked. And not only was I able to view movies, but I could listen to cd's and view the pictures I took with my digital camera. Seeing this Toshiba come up for sale on EBAY, I knew I had to buy it because I'm planning more trips, both by plane, car and bus! It's light, easy to use, the headphones are comfortable...everything you could ask for when traveling! The spinning of the cd's is a little noisy, but I would highly recommend it to anyone!

    great for what it is

    Got a factory refurb 8'' model for a price that would only land me a substandard named 7'' new. Without all the extras. Drove 800 miles and put the unit between the front seats so my 2 and 4 yr old could watch while locked in their seats. Everything functioned well. 2 headphones included. Straps to keep the unit in place. A travel case and 2 car adapters and power adapter with rechargeable battery. Everything functioned fine. Hit bumps during trip and no skipping issues. Used battery pack once.. no issues there. Sound is ok, for the small unit size, headphones are better if you want better sound. Screen is small, but picture was great. It is what it is and it did its job. I wasn't looking to spend much, as when my kids are old enough to play games and read on car trips, I am ebaying ...

    Waste of money

    It will not read new disks out of the package, old disks, it will not read any disk for that matter, and it had barely been used! we bought it to use in our smaller car, it does not have a DVD unit in it like our SUV. We have NEVER used it in the car. I used it on my kitchen table the day i bought it, to test it, watched an entire movie on it while fixing dinner. I have hooked it up to a TV in the guest bedroom to watch a movie when my children have friends over and i want to watch a movie in quiet. After owning it less than a year, watching LESS than 10 movies, it will not read disks anymore. I have cleaned it with a cleaner, to no avail. I believe from watching the unit that the eye has stopped moving along the disk to read as it should. So this was a complete waste of money. DO ...
