Though it won't measure less than 2 grams, I simply measured ten times what I wanted to use, and divided the volume by ten to come up with a single serving. Example - 10 teaspoons of creatine monohydrate measured 22 grams, therefore each teaspoon is 2.2 grams. Simple.

I used this to weigh shellac. Getting the unit powered off is tricky. Also, the dual function button that does power does the unit as well and is tricky to get the correct setting. Display is difficult to read. Instructions are minimal.

It's a very simple product and it's inexpensive - those are the positives. And that is why I am not returning it, as I was tempted at first. The scales I received have a scratched surface/appear not to be brand new. Also, when weighing, it takes multiple tries to get back to "0.00", often being stuck at "0.05." This is not that important to me, as I am planning on using it primarily for small ebay shipments. Also of less importance is the fact that the enclosed small instruction flyer is in Chinese and poorly written English. In short, not a top quality product, but sufficient for my needs and probably for the needs of someone who is looking for an approximate, but not the precise, weight. After more than 6 years of use, I have to revise/edit my initial evaluation. I am super-satisfied. The small issue of being "stuck" no longer exists. Excellent compact scales. Lungs. Beautiful and comfortable design. They determine the weight exactly. A very convenient function of taring (taking into account the weight of the container) allows you to measure the weight without taking into account the utensil. You can select the units of measurement. Now this is an indispensable kitchen gadget. I use often, really satisfied.
