    Good Book on Little-known Disaster

    Very thorough coverage of the 1934 New Years flood in Crescenta Valley. Interesting first-person accounts. Excellent photos with informative captions. Obviously well-researched, with added credibility of author knowing some survivors. Variety of good sources. Good introductory background information on San Gabriel Mountains’ fire/flood cycle, debris/mud flows, and of the Pickens Fire which contributed to the flood disaster. Highly recommended to those interested in So Cal history and compelling flood stories.
