Good but not his best
I looked forward to reading this book having read and thoroughly enjoyed the first two Kingsbridge novels, and Column of Fire was certainly entertaining, I liked the book a lot, however it was not quite up to the genius standards of Pillars of the Earth or World Without End, trying to incorporate the gunpowder plot at the end made the story feel stretched and the historical accuracy of the book felt compromised, that aside still a good story and a worthwhile read.

Column of fire
Haven't been able to put it down for any length of time. It keeps you engrossed from the first page. Love Ken Follett books, you know your going to get a book that's going to take you through time and description and detail is great.
