Great piece of equipment
Purchased this winter,2018. Already split 8 trailer loads of wood. Only used about a tank and a half of fuel. Easy to start every time. Easy to transport with two people lifting on and off trailer. Only found two small problems. One it’s a little low even for me, at 160cm, to use for long periods of time. Two I’ve had small pieces of wood jam under the ram block and stop the ram from returning. Easy enough to clear with a few scanners an a bit of common sense. Big plus is I haven’t found a piece of timber hardwood or knotted it hasn’t been able to break through, again with a bit of common sense on how hard to push the machine and what to look for when splitting. Wish I’d bought this years ago!

Great Log splitter!!!
Very nice unit that replaced my 8 ton electric which just couldn't quite split those tough and knarly pieces. Purchased this one for several perceived reasons. 1. Portability- can be hitched up to my ride on mower and set up at different locations.2. Petrol powered - not tied down to electrical outlet availability. As to the build and quality it's nicely finished and should last a long, long time. Operation is very easy and the motor starts up with very little fuss mostly on the first pull of the starter rope,, settling into a nice smooth and even burble from the exhaust. Two tips, apply either used or spare oil to the cutting wedge and bar as suggested in the manual, really helps the efficiency of the splitter and 2. Utilise the sturdy packing case that the splitter arrives in as a bench to catch the offside split wood pieces, saves a lot of bending over if you have a crook back as I do!!!

A good little splitter
I bought this as my first splitter after all these years doing it by hand. My back made me do this. So after a bit of research and reading reviews, I settled on this 20T model as the price was right and I didn't want to waste money on something and be let down. It arrived in a crate!. A well made crate as well. Some assembly is required and if you do not do Ikea well then this will see you sitting in a warm bath with a toaster. You will have to ask someone to help put this thing together as this bugger weighs a bit. The idiots guide covers all aspects except the motor and how to start it.. Re website! Duh! for that info. So assembled and after some time stuffing around, started it and who hoo. It verks. (Ave) Anyway I split some stuff that night but today 400kg of redwood. Went through it like a hot knife through butter... Very happy with the purchase, and well worth the money I spent. Yes I could have bought an all singing and dancing one that costs 5 times as much but hey, why waste money. I am not splitting tree stumps, they are wood bought for firewood in a heater from the garden centre near me. Overall a well built piece of kit that hopefully lasts (Time will tell)and will. A: Save your back. B: save your mind: C: Keep the wife of your back about there being no firewood for the heater. and D: No picking through the wood pile at the garden store to find pieces that you are able to split, 5 mins throw it all in and do a runner. Happy as and my daughter loves it as well. Oh and the wife...
