Garden Gravel, Pebbles & Rocks

Garden gravel, pebbles and rocks may be used in a garden for a variety of reasons including:

  • Chippings - in between the size of gravel and pebbles, chippings come in various materials including; blue slate, plum slate, cotswold buff, limestone and granite
  • Cobbles - similar to pebbles but larger. Usually smooth and chunky in size. They come in various tones depending on the type of cobble selected
  • Polished pebbles - small stones that are individually smooth, giving a different aesthetic to a rougher material such as chippings
  • Gravel - small pieces of rock that are commonly multicoloured in appearance
  • Rocks - larger pieces of material usually used to create a rockery, or similar display in a garden

There are various ways to install gravel, pebbles and rocks to a garden. The installation depends on the required use, and in some cases the gravel may need to be laid at a considerable depth.
