The lowdown on LEGO technic sets
LEGO Technic sets have been manufactured since 1977, first produced under the name Technical Sets. They were renamed Technic in 1984. Since 2000, LEGO Technic sets have been produced with a studless construction method. Studs are the small circle knobs on traditional LEGO bricks. Studless construction uses beams and pins rather than bricks. This allows a greater number of construction methods.
