The standard controller for PC and Xbox
I remember when there were hundreds of different controller options for PC - back in "the good ol' days"... X-input (or xbox input) now seems to be the standard input method for controllers for PC games, so a lot of the older ones or PC compatible ones don't work without some fiddling. This, being an xbox 360 USB controller, works right out of the box with Windows 10, is compatible with everything I've tried it with so far, and is well designed and feels well made. I prefer the D pad in this config versus the PlayStation arrangement, but that's just personal preference. I've had no problems with this on my Alienware Alpha box as a second controller, the other being a wireless 360 controller. A good controller, reasonable price, the safety of a genuine name brand versus a cheap knock-off. Feels solid.Read full review

DO NOT PURCHASE FOR PC USE
Purchased this controller for use on PC to replace my old xbox 360 controller simply because it was worn out and no longer precise. New controller is absolutely useless as the inbuilt deadzones on triggers and analog sticks are ridiculous. Need to be moved half way through their motion in some cases before registering and then register at that point instead of marking that as the start point of movement. So you have zero fine control over movement. My old controller plugged back in shows none of this issue so is obviously related to this controller. My old controller with the in-game deadzones turned up to accommodate the worn out controller is still more precise than the new one. And yes I have gone through all of the calibration setup in windows.

My opinion of an Xbox 360 controller
This controller is strictly for the young with nimble fingers, I am afraid at my age with mild arthritis in both hands I found the controls fiddly and too close together for my liking, I continually find I press two buttons at the same time. Give me a good old flight stick anytime these are far easier to use the only problem with these today is that the game makers don't add the necessary coding to set these up any more
