Best commercially available kit
For anyone that has an interest in Space 1999 and/or building a nice version of the Eagle Transporter, this is the best way to go in my opinion. Unlike the smaller 1:72 version of this kit by the same company, the lines and details on this kit are far more accurate. Furthermore, the kit allows all sorts of possibilities as far as detailing and aftermarket parts goes. There are lighting kits, interior kits for the passenger pod, aluminum parts for the thruster bells and landing struts, etc. Overall fit of the kit is very good. Detail is crisp, though there is flash developing on the sprues. Construction hasn't presented any serious problems. Downsides are there are a fair amount of mold lines that will need to be scraped, probably the most tedious part of the kit thus far. Also the kit comes with a minimal interior for the command module, and no interior for the pod. Verdict: Recommended

Eagle One to Base
The Eagle comes in a rather large box, filled to the top with parts. Each fret is individually wrapped to prevent scratching,or losing any parts. There are lots of them! There are repeat frets for each of the four shoulder pods, 2 in one configuration, and 2 in reverse for the opposite configuration. Forward and rear cage assemblies are duplicated, and are installed opposites end to. The large rear end engine bells are faithfully reproduced, and fit well to the engine cages when assembled The large Passenger Pod is spacious enough inside to fit the aftermarket interior kit available for it. The command Module comes with the back wall, and the two astronauts. Also provided is a rather large sheet of waterslide decals.

Beautiful detail you would expect.
Not many people alive remember Space 1999. It was hard to find when it was on back in mid 70s when we only had three TV channels. But the Eagle transporter was the Icon of the show and to have a new product produced so long after the show ended. And this model is what any fan will love. Twice as long as the older less-detailed models. And for a hefty expense, you can even upgrade the thrusters to super-detailed aluminium. Even with that added expense, this is still a bargain compared to some of the premium studio-quality eagles offered over the years. And at 22", it will only take up most of your shrinage desk space. Now if MPC would just produce a HAWK model of the same scale and quality.

YAY!
MUCH better than the 1980's 1/72 scale kit, in details and scale. Doing some research, this kit is usually just referred to as the "22". An attention getter in any setting, it is big enough to want to do all the "detail painting" to make everything stand out on it. There are many after-market detailing parts available, and that alone tells how much of a following this model has. Various blogs have pictures of the kit built up, I've to see a bad one yet! Some builders have built more than one of them. I recommend this model kit very highly.
