I'd been too scared to own a pressure cooker for many years - as a renter, the horror stories around the lids blowing off had put me off. Since owning this, I've used it at least two or three times every week. My freezer is stocked. I cooked a Christmas in July pudding that normally takes six hours in less than one. And when I went away for a week recently, I put it straight in the boot to take it with me, so I could whip up some no fuss but astoundingly delicious meals while away. The included recipes are fantastic. The operation is super easy. The cleaning is my favourite - oh my, if only the rest of my kitchen cleaned this easily! Do yourselves a favour - this is absolutely worth the price. The searing and steaming functions, plus the ability to both slow and pressure cook = mind blowingly good. Love it.Read full review

Overall I am happy with this product and would recommend it. As a beginner cook I need more information and support material. For example recommendations for Sear times for different meats, what is the difference between the sear settings and saute settings and how do they operate in this product. As it has some unique features more recipes or a website for more recipes would be very helpful. I am also a little concerned about the capacity as 6 litres if good for a family of four but I am a family of five and I did not realise its really for a family of four. Fortunately I have three little girls so no problem with capacity until they are older. Otherwise the product itself is great and I am happy with it and how it works and cleaning it is easy so yes go ahead and buy it. I got it on special for about $250 in January sale so it was really worth it.Read full review

Slow cooking or fast cooking this unit does it with beautiful results. It has quite a few presets which happily are not gimmicky, and these presets can be tweaked as you wish - the tweaking park is probably the only thing that's a tiny bit fiddly until you get the hang of it. One of the things I really appreciate with this (and these type of appliances) is that the house doesn't fill with the smell of the dish being prepared. Very little of the aromas escape, and for me that's a good thing, I don't feel like I've already eaten the dish come dinnertime. The design is beautiful with an easy to see and read display, and it's exceptionally easy to clean. When moving it, it's quite lightweight and has very comfortable handles on either side. No regrets at all with this purchase. I love it.

Breville really came through with this one. I was prepared to pay big dollars for a kitchenaid cooker but this was not only cheaper, but a far superior product on every level. The only downfall of this cooker is that it's only 6 litres in capacity, and this downfall is only the result of so much potential one has to use this cooker for serious industrial and professional culinary techniques. For small family or couple usage, one can use the fast slow pro for the most intense preparation (stocks, bases, sauces) and cooking experiences that are possible in the domestic realm. We find fine dining a disappointment compared to what we can do with this beast. 5 stars to breville.
