The machine looks nice from the outside and the control panel is easy to use. It's easy to clean the lint filter. LG condenser dryers are just nice products when they work. This LG condenser dryer replaced an older model (TD-C803E), but very similar LG condenser dryer, which had a motor failure. All components (except the motor) worked flawlessly for about 5 years (with daily use). Condenser dryers are less energy efficient than heat pump dryers, but has a much shorter drying time. The positives / good points of a condenser dryer vs heat pump dryer made the condenser dryer a better choice for us. From other reviews it appears if heat pump dryers takes double the time to dry clothes, makes more noise, are more expensive and needs careful maintenance during operation. These condenser dryers are much better than normal vented dryers as there is no lint / dust and excessive moisture in the home. The sensor drying function of this machine works very well, and much better than our previous LG dryer. This machine appears to be more effective in removing moisture from clothing. The machine has many different drying options. In general we like how this LG Dryer works and I am happy with this purchase. We have also been happy with our previous dryer until the motor failed. I believe this machine is an improvement over our older LG sensor dryer. Bad Points The motor of a very similar model (TD-C803E) lasted less than 5 years (The motor made noises for an extended period after which the motor failed). The longevity of LG dryer motors are questionable. It appears if the motor bearings fail, and it's a non-serviceable part. The entire motor must be replaced. It's uneconomical to replace a LG dryer motor as it cost more than 50% of the value of the machine. The cost of LG's spares in Australia make major repairs uneconomical. This machine has a lot more drying option than the LG TD-C803E. As more text is written on the same space around the selector knob, LED's & text are smaller and it's more difficult to read / select the desired setting. This is not a deal breaker, but the older machine was easier to use; although there is an improvement in the available options. Lint / dust passes via the sides of the lint filter. The lint filter does not have a seal. Over time a significant quantity dust built up inside the machine. We clean the filter with every new load, but lint passes at the side of the filter (between the filter and the body of the machine). This lint or dust eventually goes into the dryer's water pump motor (a problem when the machine ages). The 2 year LG factory warranty is to short. This class dryer should last about 10+ years. If there is a problem with the machine outside of the factory warranty period, LG makes you pay $55 to assess the machine, even if you know exactly what is wrong with the machine. The ACCC took LG to court over this practice and the judge dismissed the case. It may be worthwhile to consider other manufacturers that does not have the same policies than LG. LG can win a case in court, but the "court of public opinion" can work against LG's policies.Read full review
