Auto focus let down
This lens was great when i first received it.. The Bokeh was amazing and i was really happy with it. I purchased this lens for the fact it was 1.8.. Perfect for shooting in low light without flash.. I used it for a christening and most of the photo's were out of focus. Why i do not know i was using the auto focus as manual would have been too difficult for the photo's i was taking..
excellent lens with low light and close up photography.
this has now become my standard lens for all close up and low light photography. A very good lens which offers great results. you wont use a kit lens again once you have used a fixed focal with f/1.8. Im very happy with the photos taken so far. worth every penny..
This is a SONY shootters MUST have lens!
The sony DT 50MM F1.8 is excellent! Compare with CANON EF 50MM F1.8II, the build quality is slightly better, it doesn't make a big noise like CANON 50 1.8II when it's trying to focuse. The price is a little higher but its resonable and it's still affordable.
