Self-Illustration is a collection of a thousand and one illustrations of selfies, in which real characters are based on the distorted vision of the artist's reality. The idea is to confront visual identity, always very personal and intimate, with the human reality of a selfie.|
|Author Biography||Hugo Travanca is an independent visual artist who works in painting, illustration, and in some specific areas of graphic design. He resides in Sintra and is currently writing a PhD thesis (University of Barcelona), wherein he explores the concept of illustrative style in painting as contemporary pictorial vanguard. He believes that an image is always a false thing and starts to consider that the falsehood of a created image is only possible because it has an inspiration source, which is called false reality. All artwork is built with the same aesthetic design identity, and SELF Illustration is one more example of his creation.|
