Over the last few years, I've had excellent luck with this Netgear router. So much so, I've purchased some for friends and family. Extremely reliable. No need to constantly reboot the router to get it working again, they've been running for months without hiccup. Excellent throughput performance especially with devices like a Roku TV streaming movies, NetFlix, Amazon Prime video, etc. Easy firmware updates - I've mostly used DD-WRT with these units to allow for better security, configuration options and reporting. Very flexible platform.

I bought 2 of these and one of them reboots by its self all the time. The other one works great except for the "Find" button does not work. They have been refurbished but not properly repaired. I have one that I bought new almost a year ago and it work's great.

I have two of these routers and they have been running 24/7 for about 3-4 years straight now. I can't say much for factory firmware as I put dd-wrt on these routers the day I received them to run open vpn in a split tunnel configuration. these little monsters run like that serving 10-20 computers all day long everyday. The wifi signal on these is a tad on the weak side but good enough for the average sized house as long as it's in a central location. We stream a lot of high def video at night as well and these routers handle it excellently. I can honestly say I have only had to reboot these routers maybe a couple times a year at best and we are what I would call extreme bandwidth hogs! I would recommend this router to anyone who needs a workhorse and now days you can pick these up for under $30 dollars refurbished. I give it a 4 out of 5 for the weak wifi signal. Who needs an ac router yet save your money and buy one of these.Read full review
This is, by far, the best router that I've ever owned. I've only had it for a short time and haven't had time to play with some of the nice features, but for speed and stability, so far it has been flawless. Both bands work great without one or the other dropping out periodically, like other dual band routers that I've owned (and have been relegated to the junk pile). Set up is really easy and settings are really more user friendly than other brands. (Thanks, NetGear!) Seems to be fairly flexible as far as what can be done with it. Again, I haven't had much time to play with it, but the available toys look promising using the internal web set up. (I understand that the app isn't as extensive with available settings but is supposed to be good for non technical folks.) This one is a keeper.

if you don't need the fastest Wi-Fi out there - this is still one of the best consumer routers available. You can install various different firmwhere is on it down and extended to much more expensive SOHO grade hardware. Being completely Atheros based, it does not require the use of reverse-engineered or buggy firmware which needs to be reset often. I've had these units running for over a year without an issue in rather busy locations.
