Daring photographers can achieve new effects with an Opteka 6.5 mm f/3.5 fisheye lens. This Opteka fisheye lens has a 180-degree angle of view, creating unusual perspective and dimension in every photograph. A relatively short 6.5 mm focus length produces somewhat less distortion than many comparable fisheye lenses. Compatible with Nikon APS-C cameras, the fisheye lens has all-glass optics and a durable, rigid aluminum body. The manual focus on the Opteka 6.5 mm f/3.5 fisheye lens is ideal at open apertures. At smaller apertures, the wide angle of the Opteka fisheye lens reduces the need for a sharp manual focus. Multi-layer coating and a petal-style hood reduce ghosting and flaring in photos taken with this fisheye lens. An Opteka 6.5 mm f/3.5 fisheye lens is 4 inches long and weighs 14.4 oz. This lens is not compatible with an automatic flash. Fisheye-effect photography is playful and creative, offering a different photographic look at the world.

Budget Fish-Eye lens worth every penny
This lens gets a 5 Star rating from me because the picture quality is better than you would think it would be for the price of the lens. I own numerous lens and out of a scale of 1 to 10, I would give the picture quality a solid 7. I actually like the manual aperture control and the focus is easy enough to figure out. If you turn this lens vertical it can Actually See Behind You. Can you imagine the amazing sunset pictures you could get with that?This lens gets a 5 Star rating from me because the picture quality is better than you would think it would be for the price of the lens. Retro Lens
On a full frame camera the lens is only a circular fisheye like the ones from the 1970s. Its even manual focus. Unfortunately unlike the modern full frame fisheye lenses its not very useful today.

"Great Fisheye lens for an affordable price"
What I liked about the Opteka lens was the fact I could remove the pedal on the lens. This is not a major issue if you own a DX format camera. However ever on an FX body the image is a bit cropped, and when removing the pedal tulip you get a full circular image. On FX cameras you will still have some black around the outside of the circular image but for me I am a visual artist and the circular fish eye affect was amazing.What I liked about the Opteka lens was the fact I could remove the pedal on the lens. Good but HEAVY
Can't be beat for the price. Not the best but definitely worth having until you are ready to drop big $$$$ on a "better" one. Very solid - most new cars don't have this much metal, but that also means this thing is extremely heavy. Focusing ring is a bit stiff. Not sure if there is a fix or not.

A cheaper branding of the excellent 8mm Samyang CSII
Despite the markings, this lens is really the 8mm Samyang CSII. I don't know why Opteka doesn't label it as such. Bought to use on Sony E-mount APS-C & FF bodies -- in Nikon mount so with a Nikon-F-to-Canon-FD adapter I can use it on my existing Canon-FD-to-Sony-E adapters and focal reducer. Be warned that the Nikon F mount on this lens is slightly loose on adapters, although I'm told it is fine on Nikon bodies. Image quality is very nice on APS-C as a rectangular fisheye. Using it on my FF bodies with the hood off, it gives a clipped circle; however, using it on a focal reducer on FF it gives an unclipped full circle covering more than 180 degrees.Despite the markings, this lens is really the 8mm Samyang CSII. I don't know why Opteka doesn't label it as such.
