I consider myself to be an audiophile. I own a wide variety of closed headphones like the M4U2s. The noise cancelling feature on these cans is solid, but, as expected, you lose some sound integrity. The built in amp is also excellent. I personally use an external headphone amp, but I have been very satisfied with the sound when I've been forced to use them without an amp. I would rate these as 4.7 stars. They are better than the majority of cans under $400 I've used, but they aren't perfectly balanced. As a point of reference, Bose QCs get 3.5 stars or less and the best Beats headphone sets get 3 stars. So the PSBs are great headphones. If you are on a budget (under $160 when on sale) I can not recommend Audio Technica M50s enough. They are the most balanced headphone under $200. I give them 4.5 stars, but if you have the money, the PSBs are worth the upgrade. That said, every audiophile I know has M50s in their arsenal. If you don't have a set, buy them.Read full review
