Top quality, excellent value for money, perfect for macro and portrait use!
This is an excellent lens - pin sharp to the corners on FX and DX formats with extremely quick autofocus. The large aperture (f2.8) makes it very useful both for macro (where the autofocus is less important) and for portraiture in low light / indoor situation without flash. Construction is rugged and robust, there is a focus limiter switch to reduce 'hunting' and the 'push-pull' of the focus collar to switch between auto and manual focus is both ingenious and extremely simple to use. Needless to say, the front element does not rotate so polarisers can be used. A very well thought out and versatile lens of the highest quality from Tokina which is at least the equal of any other lenses of this type and with a true 1:1 macro which allows for quite attractive bokeh if you want it with the aperture wide open. I'm not letting mine go, I can tell you!
