Motorcycle Badges and Patches

Motorcycle riding has become such an integral part of world culture ever since the creation of the first commercial models in the 1800s. As it is such a ubiquitous mode of transport, enthusiasts naturally want to set themselves apart with motorcycle badges and patches to add their own flavour to their riding look. Whether it's with a local biker group you're with or if you're riding as a lone wolf, you're going to turn some heads if your gear is decked out with cool patches and badges.

What materials feature in motorcycle badges and patches?

Patches are detailed additions you can apply to any piece of clothing, including riding boots. These are made by embroidering many colours and varieties of thread like nylon and cotton to create an elaborate and lasting design. Badges and emblems are typically made of metal in different varieties, such as stainless steel, brass, copper and even aluminium.

What motorcycle patch and badge designs are available?

The beauty is that there is an unlimited number of designs to choose from. Pick a gigantic wolf or skill embroidered patch and apply it on the back of your favourite denim riding jacket, or get an air force logo patch for a subtler but detailed addition. Badge designs are equally innumerable in number. Get your favourite motorcycle manufacturer logo like Harley Davidson, BMW, or Ducati to replace an old or lost badge on your own bike, or stick an aftermarket badge on the gas tank of your chopper for added flair.

How do I apply patches and badges?

Patches are pieces of cloth that have been embroidered to create unique designs. That said, they can only be applied to clothing, such as motorcycle jackets, pants, shirts and even boots. Many can be applied via ironing and takes only a few minutes. Apply some on boots, on the other hand, requires more work than using iron-on patches. These are called sew-on patches, and as the name suggests, they usually entail sewing the patches onto the leather or rubber material for a secure application. As for badges, they are durable and weather-resistant. Make sure to thoroughly clean the surface and use a heavy-duty adhesive for the best results. To remove a badge, heat it up with a heat gun or blow dryer to soften up the adhesive and then lift it off using regular dental floss.
