I have a love hate relationship with bedside radios and have been looking for the perfect radio for forty years. My requirements are, easy to set flexible dual alarm that will wake me to the radio, DAB radio with good sensitivity, high definition Bluetooth audio, ability to fully blank the display, large easily accessible snooze button, sleep function, good audio quality, Well constructed. Idealy the alarm can be set to recur on specific days and be easy to set. This does not meet those requirements fully. There are two alarms but they can only be set as a one off non-repeating or repeating weekdays, weekends or every day. Although not ideal it is sufficient so as not to make it too difficult to set and reset and it will wake me with the DAB radio which is fine. The DAB radio comes with a chrome extendable antenna. I live a long way from the transmitter so my signal is marginal but with the chrome antenna I get a good signal strength according to the DAB radio display. If necessary the antenna can be unpluged and a standard external antenna can be attached buut this was not necessary. Tuning is straight forward and there are presets to enable the use to quickly select their favourite stations. I was easily able to connect my iPhone 7 plus to the radio's bluetooth and listen to audio from my phone. I often will listen to a Spotify play list in bed at night. When switching the radio to bluetooth mode the iPhone automaticallyy connects. There is an easily accessible button to set the brightness level and to make it comepletely blank. Not all bedside radios will do this and I find it disturbes my sleep when the radio's display is on, even faintly. There is a wide snooze button front and center so that it is easy to find and postpone one's waking. The sleep function allows the user to set the radio or bluetooth to play for a period then turn off. The audio quality is excelent without irritating accents. It makes for relaxing listening at night when it is time to relax and go to sleep. Finally the construction quality appears to be quite good with a nice vinal wrap cover. Although it is not perfect, I would have liked an lightening dock and a more flexible alarm it is as close to ideal as I could find. Although it is not cheap you can see the money in the quality and features.Read full review

Heaps of features (like heaps), good sound, good DAB+ reception. Can be improved by removing two screws, removing a cover, undoing a nut, remove the antenna to reveal a F type connector. Connect to a Band 3 TV antenna. See page 107 of instruction manual. I'm impressed and satisfied with it. Some minor issues but the positive out weigh the negative by a long shot 4.5 stars.

This is my 2nd Sangean radio and I love the sound quality for such a small unit. Being in a regional area there is no DAB stations and the FM reception is pretty dodgy so one of the reasons I chose this was that I can disconnect the antenna and plug it into my TV antenna outlet and get perfect reception or connect it to my Wi-Fi. It also easily connects to my TV to give a much better sound than the TV speakers so very versatile for a compact and good looking unit :)

Cons. It would be good to be able to remove Napster/Deezer/Qobuz/TIDAL from the radios menu if you never use them. It would significantly speed up switching from one radio type to another. It would do to have more than 10 stations preset.

The radio is easy to operate and happy with it , It has a bassy sound, needs jack for external speakers..But after 4 days the screen went dead and I had to send to Victoria for repairs I had to pay for courier... still waiting.
