Great Replacement To Upgrade LaCie Quadra drive
My LaCie dual drive enclosure hard drives failed. They were 2 1TB drives running in RAID 0 to provide 2 TB or starage. These drives allowed me to upgrade to the same storage bvut have dual redundant drives so if one fails these is a way to recover. These Seagates installed easy. All I needed to do is set the drive to RAID 1 and plug it in, open disk management and create the partition and format. These Seagate drives are very reliable as the previous pair were over 5 years old and were used constantly being on about 15 hours per day. After hte 1st, I may buy two more for my other LaCie Quadra.

A good drive for the price
I use these in the backup volume on my server. The onboard controller boards are kind of delicate. The controller card will go bad before the internal disks start to show errors. The last ones I bought lasted 3 years while some older drives of other brands are still going strong. That said, these drives perform as promised so it's a good value at this price.

Does its job. Good for data that you won't shoot yourself over if it dies.
Not a fan of the Seagate. Since the mid-90s, I've had bad experiences with Seagate hard drives. Over the years, I've learned to trust Maxtor & WD moreso than Seagate. Anyways, I was badly in need of 2 drives that would hold mass amounts of storage data that technically could be recovered by download if ever lost. (I'm using them for my Wii and my XBOX). And the price was right: $95 shipped. So I finally caved and bought the 2 of them. They're currently working alright. No real problems so far...
Good drive, good value and good reliability.
Considering this is old technology it is still very fast with hard drives made today. I would say Seagate drives are almost as dependable as their Western Digital counterparts and are a cost effective consideration. I use them for NAS and security DVR applications and they do the job nicely. If Seagate offered a better warranty they would receive 5 stars instead of 4.

The most quiet hard drive ever owned.
I've been using Western Digital Hard drive for years, they were always reliable and last long but sometimes a little noisey, so I decided to try Seagate, bought a 2TB for the work I use [Graphic Art wise.] and so far not a peep, this a good drive for the price and I highly recommend it.
