The RS170 first I love the sound and the ease of use, charging is easy. Also got the RS180 and it's alittle different this one is digital so sound is defferent but both sounds great. The bad of these is only one head set per base is paired. You can use other headsets of these models on one base but pairing all to one base you need practice and it is not easy to pair. Pairing the RS170 and RS180 to a single base can be done but your volume control is not single, what I mean is when you adjust from one headset it effects the other, its like a master control. Everyone listens to one volume setting. Maybe its made for the same kind cause they said you have your own volume control for each head set paired the to what ever base its paired too.
Great audio. but. . . Very clumsy to use, the controls for the headset are such that you have to take them off to adjust anything, another pain is if you have headsets across the room from the TV you have to make sure you turn on the transmitter every time you use them. Even the cheapest TV headsets on the market are come convenient and easier to set u and use. I would not reccomentd them to a friend.

I hooked up the headphones through a converter since I only had optical digital audio out from my tv. Sure would be nice to have that input feature on the headphones since so many people find that is the only audio output available on their TV's. Once hooked up sound was great. Replaced an old Sony headset that finally wore out.

I have had these in daily service for four years. The sound quality and reception stability are better than the earlier one it replaced. I have just replaced it with a new RS 185--partly to get the new one's fiber optic capability. There are several annoying things about this product that prompt me to recommend preferring the RS 165 over it: (1) The ear pad attachments are flimsy. I had to buy a new pair because the puny attachment hook broke off of one. (2) The headset fits loosely, and falls off easily, now that the spring in the headband has become a bit fatigued. (3) The control buttons are tiny, and it takes a lot of practice to change the volume without taking the headset off. and (4) To get from standby to active, one must push one button on the cradle and another on the headset. At this late point, buy the RS 170 only for much less than the price of an RS 165.Read full review

These head sets have been heaven sent. My husband is very hard of hearing and the volume on the TV for him is deafening for everyone else. With the head set he can have the volume up as loud as he wants and no one else suffers. He wears the headsets all day. The batteries last all day (from 7:30 am to at least 11:30 pm), and the recharge makes the sets ready to go first thing in the morning. It is easy to change out the ear cushions. I keep extras on hand. My husband loves his Sennheiser Headphones.
