Simple but effective adapter that allows upgrading of your MacBook's SSD storage

This was used successfully in conjunction with a Samsung EVO 970 500GB SSD to upgrade the 128GB SSD in an early 2015 Macbook Pro Retina 13" (A1502). The existing MacOS was Sierra (10.12), so it was upgraded to Mojave (10.14) first. This is essential to do first before you change the drives over. If you don't do this the EFI in these earlier versions of MacOS will prevent you from booting correctly with the new drive. I then preloaded a USB flash drive with Install MacOS Mojave from the App Store, opened the laptop, changed the drives over and booted into the USB flash drive to install MacOS. Everything went smoothly. Sleep functionality works perfectly fine. The only issue I came across was setting up dual booting Windows 10 (1809) with Boot Camp Assistant. Despite splitting the ...

Sintech NGFF M.2 nVME SSD Adapter doesn't solve temp issue in iMac 27" 2017

i installed the 500 GB Samsung V-nano SSD 970 EVO NVMe M.2 in a 27" iMac 2017 with the (ST-NGFF2013C); the SSD was perfectly identified but noway to control the fans> they run too fast and i didn't want to install 3rd party fan control; so i put the 32GB original Mac SSD back; from a forum i learned that others have similar problems. Conclusion: good product but no good solution possible.

  • Easy and works perfectly

Installed with a Samsung 970 EVO Plus, in an early 2014 MacBook Air, no trouble whatsoever. following a guide online. This was the most recommended product for the task, had no issue with it whatsoever. Only recommendation is make sure you have a recovery drive ready if you’ve not already updated the computer to at least High Sierra already, as they say in their instructions. It was also cool to see that, in the guides I’ve read with this part a few users suggested covering some exposed pins with tape to prevent any accidental contact, but since they’ve been released the developers of the adapter have actually gone to the trouble of sealing off said pins, which I guess means they’ve actually listened to some of the feedback on their product. Once again, works great, thanks.

  • Plug and Play.

The Pro: I used this on a late 2014 Macbook Pro 13" -Samsung 970 PRO 512Gb -Doubled my speed for half the cost and capacity for half the cost. The Con: Nothing to do with the item but... Your computer WILL run slightly hotter and consume a bit more power but honestly don't think twice about it. it's fine. Back up your file system on a hard drive using time machine. Then plug the drive into your computer. Power on your machine with the hdd/ssd backup plugged in and install from there.

  • workes well with Mojave / Windows 10 1803 + Samsung Evo 970 1 tb etc

Works well with a Mackook Pro 2015 model. No hibirtation issues, required High Sierra or Mijave to work when used with an NVME drive such as a samsung 970 pro or evo drive. Would highly recommend this product.
