DSC HV20V Super Zoom 30K life

I have several of these cameras and they are small, compact and laden with features. I have taken them all around the world and have gone through three so far. I just click everywhere in P mode and don't take too much effort in framing pictures as the resolution allows trimming later. Not so good in low light, there are a sunny day camera. Bottom line, they will last about 30,000 photos by which time the control panel on the back will become erratic, but more importantly the CCD and and lens will get dusty. If you are technically minded and have the tools you can disassemble the camera and clean up the dust but it will keep coming back. The super zoom sucks in air as you extend the lens and with it dust. The lens motor gears will inevitably get a fault as well with grinding and failure to stop moving. Overall they are good value and need to be kept out of dust, in a good case, and treated gently. You will get as many photos as any other brand.

good value for the cost, overall happy with this camera

I'm very happy with this camera, it does everything it says. A little difficult to work out all the features though, the in built guide is good but not enough step by step information for first time users. The pop up flash is tricky as its exactly where you hold the camera for shooting. Apart from those couple of things I'm very happy, it's a good buy for the price for sure..

Awesome

Mate it's really value for your money. One main detraction is the placement of the flash and the only thing I can think to avoid getting in the way of it is to shoot one handed. Apart from that, everything else is laid out sensibly and similar to other compacts.
