Let me start by saying that Project 8 had very low expectations from me just because the recent Tony Hawk games didn't impress me, anyway lets just start the review. Gameplay 9/10- This is in my opinion, the best part of this game. The career mode is fun. As usual. But the best part of the game is the multiplayer. I have X-box Live so I love this feature, but even if you don't have Live it is still very fun and can provide weeks of fun. If you are a serious gamer then you can play this game for months on end. Graphics 9/10- The graphics are great! Of course, I own it for 360 so I haven't seen the PS2 graphics. But I assume their decent, but the X-box 360 version of the game has beautiful visuals and the're very impressing. Overall the graphics are just like any other 360 game but slightly better. Sound 7/10- I personally don't care about the sound in videogames because if I don't like the sound of a game. I just blast the radio. But the sound is just a traditional Tony Hawk soundtrack. They play songs that you would most likely know and they are good songs too. I really liked the sound and I think most people do. Replay 10/10- Tony Hawk games can be replayed over and over with the characters. Also there is a good multiplayer mode that anyone will enjoy. Serious gamers and people who don't game a lot. But the replay value is one of the best parts of the game. Multiplayer 8/10- My brother and I played non-stop all day when we first got it and we still play a lot to this day (3 months later). If you have X-box Live then this feature can be very fun. But, I thought that I could hold my own on Live. I was wrong. People on Live are crazy, their scores are very high. But playing againt them makes you much, much better. Overall I would say this game is one of the better Tony Hawk game and can be enjoyed by everyone. Overall I give this game a 8/10.Read full review
This was bought as a present, a stocking stuffer for Christmas for my boyfriend. I bought it because it has the capability of being a 2-player game that isn't a "shoot-em-up". I had the original Tony Hawk game for Playstation 1 and used to love it, so thought this might be fun. A lot of the basic moves are the same, making it a fun, easy game to catch on to, as well as having a lot of levels and cool new features like the "Nail the Trick" slow-motion customizable trick. I bought an older game as well because I didn't want to spend a whole lot of money on a game that was just for fun. This is a fun game to play, and has the capability of being an online multiplayer as well. I haven't tried that feature; I'm not sure if there would be a lot of online players since this is several years old. I think I've played it more than my boyfriend has, but it was a good stocking stuffer gift that isn't the type of game you have to play for hours at a time or for a long time to get the hang of.Read full review

It's one of the best in the series and with it's amped up graphics and new features, it's more than worth a play. Tony Hawk games are always fun because you can just pick up and play and the learning curve is fairly flat with an amazing gameplay result. This edition keeps the same great formula that fans love while adding some pretty cool features to keep hardcore fans interested. Nail the trick is a new feature that puts you in slow-motion with the ability to control your feet with the analog sticks. The timing is crucial in this mode, so it's a little hard at first, but its gives you control to do basically any trick you can think of. The 360 can handle online play with up to 8 players and to me that's the best thing a game can do because after your done with the game, you get tons of replay value competing online. The goals are challenging enough to keep you occupied for hours upon hours and there are so many goals in the game that the compass you use to find them gets clogged up with overlapping arrows. If your a fan of the other games, or any skateboarding game for that matter, you should pick this up, you won't be disappointed.Read full review
I had been looking at buying a Tony Hawk game for about 2 months and settled on this. It isn't the newest or the most technologically advanced, but I think it may be the best since they became "open ended." There are no load times between levels, but there are between some challenges. I didn't realize that I was progressing till about half way through the game. But, when I did realize what was going on it started to get hard. The difficulty is my only problem with the game. About half way through the game even doing an easy challenge is fairly challenging. I would not recommend this game to anyone looking for kids younger than about 12, due to some language and the challenges eventually becoming really hard. Unless you have a kid that doesn't mind becoming discouraged after several hours of play. It's a great game that I really enjoy putting in anytime I need a pick me up. If you used to play THPS games and/or love skating I would highly recommend getting this game.Read full review
