The 3 Stooges (Larry, Moe & Shemp) starred in 2 3D Movies - "Spooks" and "Pardon My Backfire", both in 1953. They were produced in Anaglyph 3D - but instead of the traditional Red/Blue format, these movies utilized Green/Magenta. They were also in a wide screen format. The 3D effects were "over the top" as Moe threw everything he could lay his hands on into the audience! The audience also suffers from an eye-poke! Great fun! These 2 shorts are available in the 3 Stooges Collection Volume 7 - which includes 2 pairs of 3D Glasses. (If buying a used copy be sure the glasses are included!) The 3D Classics -The Three Stooges in 3D is NOT original 3D material. The four shorts are the "Public Domain" shorts (Disorder in the Court, Brideless Groom, Sing a Song of Six Pants, and Malice in the Palace) which have been colorized, and 2D - 3D converted. To be fair, the colorization process was done well. The 3D conversion adds a lot of depth, but not the jump-out-into-the-theater effect that characterized 1950's 3D movies. It's a lot like looking at a View Master - the 3D effects are good, but sometimes a bit flat - like looking at a diorama. This is a fairly pricey Blu-Ray, I think your Stooges money would be better spent buying the 1952 - 1954 Collection. Read full review

Note, none of the titles on this disc are the ones the Stooges originally made in 3D. Rather they are 3D "conversions," using today's state of the art digital technology - which is quite good The titles here are the same public domain shorts that often flood the market whenever a new home video technology shows up; they are old stand bys, seen when VHS first came out, and again when DVDs hit the shelves - now it's Bluray incarnation proudly brings the Stooges home in 1080p high-definition. A lot of work went into the 3D conversion, but the main reason I purchased the disc was for the high-def aspect. A masterful job was also done in colorization, but that is a process that means nothing to me since I always choose to watch content without it. The price is certainly right for this item, but I was somewhat disappointed that the shorts look like they were mastered from 16mm prints instead of 35mm elements... otherwise I would have rated it 5 stars. An excellent buy, however!Read full review
I love the stooges this disk is great. I’m not a fan of colorization but this worked.

Although this was not filmed either in color, or in 3D, they did a good job of converting the footage. Those eye pokes look more painful than ever.
