|Author Biography||Assistant Professor in the Speech Pathology Program, Department of Special Education and Individualized Services at Kean University in Union, New Jersey, and maintains a private practice in Central New Jersey. She has specialized in the evaluation and treatment of infants, children, and adults with cleft palate and craniofacial disorders for almost 25 years. Dr. Golding-Kushner received her B.S. in Speech Pathology and Audiology from the State University of New York at Albany, her M.A. in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of Pittsburgh, and her Ph.D. in Speech Science from the Graduate School and University Center of the City University of New York, She was affiliated with the Center for Craniofacial Disorders of Montefiore Medical Center and the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Bronx, New York, for 17 years, serving as Clinical Director of the Center and Assistant Professor in the Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, for the last 8 of those years. She has made over 75 presentations at national and international conferences in four countries on topics related to communication disorders associated with cleft palate, assessment and treatment of velopharyngeal insufficiency, and velo-cardio-facial syndrome. She has authored or co-authored 14 journal articles, contributed three chapters on speech and cleft palate to text books, and written and produced a videotape on treatment of compensatory articulation and VPI. She was author of the first paper that described the language and learning disorders associated with velo-cardio-facial syndrome, a papr that is considered a landmark publication on VCFS.|
