Small High Quality Carving Axe
You always wonder ordering something from Eastern Europe. This one is a winner! The hardness of the steel, the well fit handle, and the balance in your hand all make this a great value. The bearded area allows a closer grip for tight spots. Sharpens well and comes with a very usable edge. You won't be disappointed. Great Value!

Looks good, performs poorly
The axe is a nice design and fairly well balanced but it is very light weight, I have used it for a couple of months and have only cut soft woods kindling. On checking the blade I see quite a few Knicks on the cutting edge, so the sharpening and particularly the tempering is not good. Was looking for a good all around hatchet, this is not it.

Great light weight pack-hatchet.
I've owned mine for over two years now. It's been a fantastic back-packing hatchet. The weight of this tool, combined with its relatively large cutting edge and longer handle are the perfect combination for a pack-hatchet. The steel is very hard, tough and holds an edge well. It also sharpens up easily. It's been great for carving spoons and bowls. The wedge profile works great for cross-cutting, carving and splitting. Ig you're into bush-craft, I can't recommend this tool enough. On the down side, I did have to re-handle it shortly after purchase as the factory hang was atrocious. I used the bottom half of a broken full size handle I had in the shop. I also had to make my own mask as it didn't come with one from the factory, and good luck finding one at the store that fits. Both projects were enjoyable to me, so no big deal. There's plenty of You-Tube videos on how to accomplish either task. The other down side for me was paying like $18 for shipping and then having to wait like a month for it to arrive in the mail. It was worth the wait. Bottom line, this is the best back-packing hatchet I've ever used. I've spent time using Gransfors Bruks, Council tools, Condor, you name it. This Bulgarian company got it right.

This small pack axe is awesome!
This small pack axe is what I call it, is a great value for the cost. Pics show exactly what you will get!!! It came very well sharpened ready to use. I put a very honed edge and the steel holds the edge really well. It's light, in fact lighter then I expected! Which is awesome to not weigh my hiking pack down.
