Just adequate

Thoroughly and methodically prepped my steel slide for coating. Sanded, soaked in acetone, scrubbed, dried. Coating has great coverage, and dries looking very smooth and even. I did 3 coats. Much more forgiving than paint. After baking, looks just as good. However, I'm not too impressed with durability. I have tried to be very careful, but even still, finish has chipped in some small areas after setting gun on garage floor, for example. I have had to touch up 3 or 4 spots. Hopefully after problem spots are fixed I will find it to stay more durable. As such, I would have go suggest a high quality matte paint, since it's so much cheaper. $35 a can needs to be a spectacular product.

Better off using Krylon!

Not at all impressed with it. Even with surfaces prepped properly.....it will chip and rub off just from a fingernail. Should have stuck to Dura Coat but decided I'd give this an honest try. My mistake.

Spray paint would it work better

I followed all directions and put it on my gun it chipped off at my fingernail after done. I did it again start over and it did the same thing the second time completely chipped off and that was unclean roughed up Steel and aluminum.
