I have two additional ports on my managed switch (SFP Ports - They can be used for Copper RJ45, or Fibre, etc.....), you just buy the appropriate module.
As I'm not running some big corporate network that would be able to use fibre, these modules easily allow you to add two additional usable ports to your switch, and no configuration required, just plug them in (hot pluggable), and away you go!
