It is a heart felt story of George and his amazing love for Gracie. He provides a loving account of their time together which is not overly sappy, but genuinely sweet. I would recommend this book to anyone who wants to know more about Gracie and her life as a mother, wife, actress, and radio personality. She was an extremely loving, talented, and selfless woman. What a beautiful tribute to such a wonderful woman.

If you liked George Burns you'll like this book--pure and simple. The love and humor he and Gracie shared come through with humor and even the sad ending has a smile attached. You won't find a "tell all" book here (although George admits that he once cheated on Gracie with a sexy starlet, but he also discloses that he lies a lot and the tale was a nice setup for a gag). Also a good read for those of us interested in Vaudeville, early radio, films and TV. For example, he confirmed my suspicion that tap dancers on roller skates had their back wheels locked. I recently started watching the Burns & Allen show and love it! I wanted to know more about George & Gracie, so I ordered this book. I am so glad I did. It was exactly what I expected and then some. I not only got to know more about George & Gracie, but Jack Benny and other friends they had. I loved looking at the old pictures George included in the book. I love how much George loved Gracie! It was so good, I started reading it again right after I finished it. Excellent buy for Burns & Allen fans!
I really like to read about people and their lives but George repeated himself a lot talking about how dimwitted Gracie was. I just expected more I guess. But for the money it was a good read, enjoyable. I think it would have been fun to live back in those times. Comedy was so much better then.

I bought this expecting memories and laughter. I got that and more... Gracie's run for the Presidency on the Surprise Party ticket, her lost brother, real life shared with good grace and humor (page after page of it). What fun this book was. Enjoy!
